mixtape: ♥ AMORES Y DESAMORES ♥

Today we celebrate all kinds of love and all its goodness, badness, complications, kitschyness, happiness & craziness. The good and the bad ones.. because from the bad we learn to know ourselves better, what we like, what we hate.. what makes us happy, and our limits. We get to form stronger friendships and stronger selves.
And to the good ones because love comes in all kinds of sizes, shapes and breeds. Not just a lover, but a good friend, our sisters, brothers and family. Our pets that love us no matter what.
So this mix tape has a bit of everything.. starting with this random lady from the 80's Italo Disco scene called Raimunda Navarro. Her music is so bad (for my taste).. but I just love this piece. For the ones that don't understand.. this is what she's saying.

"I want to shout to the highest mountain.
Tell the world I've found love and what it means to me.
But what surrounds me is violence and laws that fasten me.
Maybe one day they'll understand... Love is not only a man and a woman.
Love is strange and out of control."

Hope you like it and much as I do!

So to all of you my lovers.. Happy Valentine's day!

On the other side of the room we have.. Maestro Muerte, who only comes out on Halloween and/or Fridays the 13th. No one knows anything about this character.. only that he likes to bathe in blood and eat babies (with a fork and knife...he's no savage).

So if you're throwing a halloween party, here's some music to play. Enjoy :)

Aside from the infernal heat and bad smells that accompany the summer time, I think it still holds its place as my favorite season of the year. I don't know, it brings me happiness having longer days drenched in sun and being able to enjoy nature at it's fullest. It's still summer and that's why we gotta keep our summer mode on and sweat every last drop...and what better way than with this summer mixtape: "SONOSOLAR".

This mix was created by the super babe Buscabulla..."Sonosolar is a ride around Piñones, on acid, where old caribbean rhythms and sonorous experiments are combined to evoke a journey through lost beaches and tropical galaxies" says the DJ, artist, singer-songwriter, designer native from Puerto Rico and based in Brooklyn, Raquel Berrios, aka Buscabulla.

Buscabulla is a project influenced by the latin music of the sixties, seventies and eighties, like Salsa "Gorda", Tropicalia, Cuban Nueva Trova, and Argentinian Rock, incorporating electronic and progressive sounds. Her latest single "Sono" is in this mixtape and it's fucking awesome.

Enjoy :)

≫◈≪ SALVAJES DESDE LA COLUMNA VERTEBRAL ≫◈≪

Un recopilado de musica peruana Rockanrolera // Peruvian Rock n' Roll compilation

≫◈≪

I've been obsessed with Peru for a long time. Maybe it's because I've met very nice people form there or because I'm in love with their food, their textiles and culture. Maybe it's everything. Since we're still celebrating the sun (I wish I could here in NY) I decided to bring you some cool obscure tracks from mid '50s - '70s Peru. Nothing much different from what was popular on english-speaking countries, but this time in spanish and sometimes with an african influence. Latin America wasn't and isn't all about cumbia, andean, bachata, la cucaracha and tropical music. It's much much more.

Peru had the best rock scene from the subcontinent between mid '60s and mid '70s becoming pioneers of Rock-n-Roll music in Latin America. Peruvians made beats and rock n' roll in the most brutal and tough possible way predicting this way the birth of punk. They played instrumental rock, and brought surf to their landscape. Psychedelic & garage where part of this peruvian splendor as well. Some of them preferred to keep their loyalty of the new sounds by singing in english while others gave it a new twist by brining spanish lyrics to life, creating a refreshing sound never heard before in Latin America.

Hope you like it :)

MALA

Devendra Banhart is releasing a new album in March called "Mala". Here's a preview.
Feels loyal to his sound. We're dying to listen to the whole thing! Specially the songs in spanish.
