'KESH ANGELS

This is the second time we bump into Hassan Hajjaj's work. The first time was all about rockstars and mostly male figures. This time he captured strong female figures as motorbike girl gangs of Morocco. Can it get any better!? Besides taking these vivid photographs, Hajjaj's designs their outfits with traditional prints and counterfeit brand-name fabrics from markets in London and Marrakesh. And sometimes he uses his own friends as models.

Love love love this theme. Every time I think of bikes and gangs all I can think of is the Hells Angels type and the traditional Americana thing..but this.. Marrakech biker-chick gangs, is just genius.  Hats off to Hassan Hajjaj.

This Moroccan Rocks!

MOROCCAN ROCK

"Hassan Hajjaj is a Morrocan photographer who lives in Marrakech for half of the year (and the other half in London), where he spends time photographing the people he meets. He began taking the photographs for his first series My Rockstars: Volume 1 in1998. Hajjaj carefully constructs each image, often dressing his subjects in clothes he has made himself, against backdrops he carefully selects. Each image is then framed in a hand made frame constructed from anything from wood to Coca Cola cans." - via Think Designer Prints
